It is said that Chanderi sarees are mentioned in the Mahabharata period of the Vedic period. Whether the pearl-embroidered sarees mention the Mahabharata which indicates Chanderi sarees is a matter of debate and discussion, but the history of Chanderi Saree can be traced back to the 13th or 14th century AD. Around 1350, Koshti weavers from Jhansi migrated to Chanderi and settled there. The Mughal period saw the golden period of weaving in Chanderi.

Chanderi sarees are produced from three kinds of fabric: pure silk, Chanderi cotton and silk cotton. Traditionally cotton and silk are combined using a complicated and intricate weaving process to produce a lightweight and beautiful fabric that combines the best of both fabrics. Traditional coin, floral art, peacocks and modern geometric designs are woven into different Chanderi patterns. The saris are among the finest in India and are known for their gold and silver brocade or zari, fine silk, and opulent embroidery.

This Chanderi cotton silk saree is ornamented with golden zari square motif jaal. The contrast pallu of saree is unleashing the charm of matching pattern in golden zari artistry. The saree is embraced with border engraved with elegant trellised vines with floral motif and meenakari work exuding charming grace. This is one of the smartest creations as the saree has a beautiful sheen like silk sarees, yet is also comfortable and light. Made by hands, this saree is a season favourite. Best suited for workplace, events and parties.
